WWE Night of Champions 2015

September 20th, 2015

LIVE at the Toyota Center in Houston Texas

PRE SHOW: Neville defeated Stardust with the Red Arrow

- The show started with the WWE Intercontinental Championship on the line as number one contender Kevin Owens finally got his match against the champion Ryback. Owens has been chasing gold since making his way to the main roster and he finally reached that goal tonight. While in position for the Shellshock Owens raked the eyes of the big man which allowed him to follow up with a Pop Up Powerbomb, giving him the win.

- Nikki Bella has held the WWE Divas Championship for 301 days, making her the longest reigning divas champion in history and tonight she had to face Charlotte who has been one of the standouts in the divas division. However, Charlotte succumbed to a pinfall after a hard right forearm from the divas champion Nikki Bella after accidentally being distracted by Paige attacking Brie Bella ringside. The Bella Army celebrated Nikki's win as she continues her historic reign, but just how long will she reign supreme over the divas division?

- Since returning to the WWE The Dudley Boyz have had their eyes on the Tag Team Titles and tonight they hoped to win them against the champions, The New Day. The Dudleyz seemed to have it won after a 3D to Kofi Kingston but as Bubba went for a pin Xavier Woods attacked him forcing the referee to call a disqualification! While New Day still retained the titles, they lost the match and Xavier Woods was powerbombed through a table by Bubba Ray. Clearly this isn't over between the two teams!

- After Lana suffered a wrist injury Dolph Ziggler went into his match with Rusev without her by his side. Rusev took out his anger on Ziggler blaming him for Lana getting injured which clearly upset Summer Rae who was ringside. After Rusev got knocked loopy by a superkick Summer made her way onto the apron, trying to distract Ziggler. It seemed to work until Dolph ducked a clothesline from behind by Rusev, causing Rusev and Summer to almost collide. Rusev stopped before colliding into Summer and this allowed Ziggler to come up from behind and roll the Russian Tank up to win the match.

- The Wyatt Family has been a thorn in Roman Reigns' side, costing him every chance he's had at getting close to the WWE Championship and tonight he recruited Dean Ambrose to help him along with the surprise partner, his cousin, Jimmy Uso to take on the deranged cult. While they gave a valiant effort it wasn't enough as the new face of fear, the Black Sheep Braun Strowman choked the life out of Jimmy, giving The Wyatt's the win. After the bell rang Braun continued to choke Jimmy as Bray and Luke destroyed the referee, Roman Reigns, and Dean Ambrose. At the command of Wyatt, Strowman finally released his grasp on Reigns' cousin. They celebrated as the medical team attended to Jimmy Uso.

- Seth Rollins had a hell of a night. Not only did he have to defend his title later in the night but he had to defend his United States title against former champion John Cena. These two men took it to each other, pushing each other to the limit. John Cena walked away as the new United States champion after reversing the Pedigree into the Attitude Adjustment. With Seth Rollins losing one of his two titles will he be able to walk out of the show still WWE champion?

- Just moments after losing his United States title Seth Rollins had another challenge ahead of him as Sting was looking to win the WWE Championship from him. While Sting was the one who kept getting the upper-hand on him over the past few weeks it was Rollins who finally got the upper-hand in the match and planted Sting into the corner turnbuckle not once, not twice, but three times with a turnbuckle powerbomb. It looked to be over but Seth wasn't finished, he planted Sting into the mat with a Pedigree! He wanted to make sure Sting was done for and he did just that as he performed the phoenix splash before pinning Sting to retain the title. Seth's awful night had finally come to an end... or had it? The Money in the Bank contract holder Sheamus had plans to cash in but just as he went to give the briefcase to the referee flames shot up out of the ring post and Kane made his way to the ring, chokeslamming Sheamus into the mat. Seth was all alone in the ring with Kane and he tried to fight back but was overpowered by Kane who gave him a tombstone piledriver! Kane stood over the fallen Seth Rollins as Night of Champions came to a close...
