Mr. Robot discussion.

This is a great show. It truly is. I remember everyone joking about it during the commercials that would air on Raw, but I always thought it looked good, and man...I was right about that. For proof, it currently has an IMDB score of 9.3/10...if you take that sort of thing seriously. Right now, I believe there are a total of 3 episodes available on demand or whatever. I came across the first episode while channel surfing the other night. I didn't know the series had even started. I watched that, and the second episode was on right after...so I watched that. Then the third episode was on. I didn't get to sleep until something like 4 or 5 am. I recommend that everyone check those 3 episodes out and then proceed to watch the new episode, which airs tomorrow night. Then we can discuss the show here. Seriously though, best new show in a while.

Review of the latest ep's up on my blog, but quick summary; I've been intrigued by the series so far.

I think there have been good moments, but I feel I have yet to see the show really shine through with some fantastic television, and moments.

Still, there is a pretty great concept the series is dealing with and there is a TON of potential here. I would still recommend it, because I think it can do so well.

One thing I dislike, is the blatant rip of the hacker group as being Anonymous. I mean...there is borrowing a theme, and then there is being blatant and lazy. The mask looks ridiculous, and the threat video was almost word for word what Anonymous would say.

Yes man yes. Being a Computer Security and Forensics student, this is the coolest thing ever. All the attacks and hacking references and talk in the show is cool as hell because it's what we use and talk about in my degree.

I really like it, and enjoy how quickly the story progresses. 3 episodes in and already so much has happened. I'm also surprised at the shit they can get away with every week, wouldn't normally expect it from the USA Network.

Yeah, I agree. At first, I thought my laptop was playing up with me but then the Elliot-less scenes were running fine.

This episode was *censored*ing fantastic, imo. Like, the cinematography, just how much of a mind*censored* it was with Elliot being in a dream, within a dream...and also, whoever handpicks the songs for the show is doing a great job. Perfume Genius' Queen, Schoolboy's Hell of a Night etc.

(P.S: I think Mr. Robot could be a figment of Elliot's imagination, too. A review I read commented on it, before, saying it was interesting how nobody reacted to him being in the Allsafe offices or even talked to by the barman when he ordered an appletini.

But in this episode, I noticed that he seemed kind of...anonymous, for lack of a better term? Like, he could be Elliot's internal demon pushing him to do all of the things "Mr. Robot" pushed him to do in this episode, and thus far.)

Review finally up. Will give my review of the next ep. much sooner.

Man...huge twist on last night's episode. That was insanely well done, IMO. Makes me want to go back and watch all of the earlier episodes to see how it plays in.

I did get a slight feeling that Slater's character may have been his father in the episode where he was having the withdrawals in the motel room and he said "I'm not going anywhere kiddo" or something like that. But, still...really came out of left field, IMO. And him kissing his sister and not remembering that she was his sister was great too. Because, at first you think she's just freaking out because she doesn't like him that way, and then you're like "this dude is even further gone than he already seemed"...

Things like that make me think this show is going to have a HUGE twist at the end of each season...and probably an even bigger one as a series finale.

Wow, yeah, absolutely. I also loved how at first, it teased that

Elliot may just be, in fact, Mr. Robot when he starts going through solo pictures of him but then there is a kid that also ends up being a recurring person in the pictures and I was like, "Shit."

This season is beginning to pick up a lot, I'm really hoping the next two episodes continue what made this and "br4ve-trave1er" awesome.

Man that twist was so nicely done. As soon as it was revealed, I had to recollect memories of the earlier episodes and it all made sense how Darlene acted around Elliott. The bit where Darlene goes to the belle class was bs as well and got me thinking how the *Censored* do these two know each other...?

Just saw the first episode. The protagonist seemed a little tryhard edgy, but I appreciate that in the sense, that... I mean, people exist like that, so why not follow them in a show, right?

Also, I never thought I'd see the gay dude from The War At Home work for the president of the United States. :hqhq:

Review for m1rror1ng.qt. Finale tonight, nooooo! :'( It's pretty great to know they've renewed for a Season 2, though...and viewer figures have been going up quite a bit lately.

Yeah, I know what you're saying but he's not edgy out of, like, a self-serving ego or whatever. Like Gen said, watch more, it'll open up more about why the way he is.

The reasons/motivations don't really matter in regards to what I was criticizing, really. (Unless the backstory was explaining that he purposely behaves like that, then, of course, it'd be a different situation.)

Either something comes off as inauthentic and cringey or it doesn't. The first episode, he was too wannabe brooding and edgy for my taste.

But you're right, it was much better in the second episode already I mean, don't get me wrong, I don't mind him being a rather dark or grim character, not at all. It's just, the dialogue and performance in the first episode had some moments where I was just feeling awkward. But overall,it's fine. And the show's overall really good. Enjoying it so far.

So...

The previously filmed season finale of Mr. Robot contains a graphic scene similar in nature to today’s tragic events in Virginia. Out of respect to the victims, their families and colleagues, and our viewers, we are postponing tonight’s episode. Our thoughts go out to all those affected during this difficult time.

Another reason to hate that asshole.
