WWE actually first considered to have Roman Reigns or Dolph Ziggler win the Money In the Bank briefcase a few weeks back but went with “option C” instead, which was Sheamus. Sheamus winning is not considered a bad creative decision as it was unexpected and he can be seen as a credible threat for the WWE World Heavyweight Title.

We’ve noted how Triple H has pushed for a Reigns heel turn but Vince McMahon was not on-board with it. The heel turn talks for Reigns have something to do with why he did not win the briefcase. It’s still possible that Reigns ends up turning heel while in the current feud with Bray Wyatt.

Reigns had been the planned briefcase winner and they also discussed Ziggler but in the end it was Triple H who pushed for Sheamus to go over.

Regarding the post-MITB booking of Sheamus, his loss the next night to Dean Ambrose on RAW was seen as a sign that the company still isn’t sure on where they are going with him.

Regarding the reign's heel turn, ugggggh. Please step down Vince..

That Sheamus stuff is bullshit. Might as well say that about every single person who's held MITB in recent years then because all the recent briefcase holders have looked weak 90% of the time (except for Cena probably).

Not a chance in hell of Reigns turning heel. He's the next top guy, Vince wants that to happen asap, no way would he give in to Reigns turning heel under those circumstances.

And Sheamus can suck a bit one, how the *Censored* can anyone think that it was a good creative decision to have a guy people don't give a single shit about win MITB?

Nevermind, this is Vince's creative team we're talking about, he'll do the opposite of what's logical 99% of the time just to piss everyone off.

Cena only held his for a week. Edge and RVD were easily the strongest holders.

Either way, I laughed at the 'Sheamus would be a credible threat to the WWE title.' He has to be credible first. Something he has never been for the past 6 years. And yes that includes his beloved heel run in 2009.

I'm ok with a Reigns heel turn. He's getting no where right now because of their refusal to put him in the IC or US division.

Roman turning heel makes total sense to me, it neutralizes the fans that still boo him while he can still be featured as a top guy, then once he's earned the fans respect, and he's ready to turn he can become the face of the company like they did with The Rock.

I don't like Sheamus winning the MITB but it makes sense as well. One thing Triple H knows better than anyone in the company is how to get over as a main event heel. And despite his goofy look Sheamus fits the mould. He's big, strong, and easy to hate and picks on the smaller guys. Seth Rollins is a weasel hiding behind his goons. Kevin Owens gets in his opponents heads and just messes them up and can't be controlled. Rusev is a big nasty foreigner. Bray is kind of in limbo, but he offers something completely different to the others.

The ground work is being laid by stacking the roster with heels so when someone is ready to step up the crowd will naturally be behind them and hopefully they'll stumble across the next "boom guy", but if they don't find that person they can rely on the flavor of the month trying to overcome the odds, and the casual fan will buy it.

Who would you consider the next "boom" guy Macho ?

Not a clue, If anyone on the main roster stands a chance of it being them it's Roman, but he needs something big. There's a lot of people that would say it should be Ambrose, and he might be able to, but Dean's problem apart from the questionable booking, is WWE's ability to spot something getting over naturally then beating the fans over the head with it to the point that they start to resent it. I'd love it to be Cesaro or Ziggler but it won't be, they're just not the type to be that.

If you look at UFC and the shape of the sporting world especially with the Women's World Cup getting record viewing numbers at the moment there might be an argument that the next "boom" might be revitalized Women's division, with Charlotte being WWE's answer to Ronda, again I don't see WWE under current management committing to a complete rebranding, let alone making it a key feature of the show.
