In the aftermath of the events of Ground Zeroes and the destruction of Militaires Sans Frontières, Big Boss falls into a coma. Nine years later, he awakes and helps lead a new mercenary group, the Diamond Dogs. Adopting the codename "Venom Snake", he ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet war to track down the men responsible for MSF's destruction. Along the way, he becomes reacquainted with his former rival Ocelot and encounters a unit of warriors robbed of their past, present and future. While he and Kazuhira "Kaz" Miller are initially driven to exact revenge, Snake soon unearths a plot by the Cipher organization to develop a weapon with the potential to surpass even the Metal Gear system.

I didn't see a topic about MGS V so I searched and found one from last year, however I didn't want to bump an old topic. So discuss V here as well as any other game in the Metal Gear series.

I enjoyed Ground Zeroes so I'm really looking forward to this. The graphics are absolutely amazing and the new "buddy system" seems pretty cool to use in missions. I'm glad Sutherland did the voice for Big Boss instead of Hayter, I know Solid is a clone of him, but Big Boss is older now than he was in the other games, plus them both having the same voice was getting on my nerves.

I didn't play Ground Zeroes, most of the people I'm acquainted with who work at Gamestop told me it was short, wasn't a full length MG game, and thus I didn't find it worth my time. But I've played every other MG to date, and had no plans of missing out on this one, it's one of the main reasons I bought a "next gen" system.

MGS3 made me believe I was playing in a sixties era world. From what I've seen of this game, I feel like it could just as easily be present day when it's meant to be 1984. That doesn't take away from how good the game looks though. Just an observation.

People who ordered of Simply Games in the UK have got the game today. So if you order now you might get it tomorrow. Sucks my pre-order has already gone through with Shopto. I doubt it will come early at all now. Hell even my copy of Until Dawn never came today and is due out tomorrow so I guess it will be time to shop elsewhere in the future.
