*UPDATE* NXT Superstar Earns Spot In Andre The Giant Memorial Battle Royal

An NXT tournament will be held this Thursday at WrestleMania Axxess, with the winner earning the right to compete in the second annual Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal days later at WrestleMania.

 

Tournament participants will include former NXT Champion Adrian Neville, Finn Bálor, Tyler Breeze and Hideo Itami, WWE.com has confirmed. WrestleMania Axxess, which is the years biggest gathering of WWE fans, takes place at the San Jose Convention Center Thursday, March 26, through Sunday, March 29.

 

Find out which NXT Superstar will outlast the competition and make his debut on The Grandest Stage of Them All when the action goes down this Thursday at Axxess!

Kinda shocked Zayn and Owens aren't in this. Oh well. I would love to see Breeze win, but it's clearly going to be either Neville or Balor. I'm thinking Neville, since he's been on NXT longer and is probably getting called up soon anyway, but DAMN, if Finn Balor wins and gets a WrestleMania entrance with the body paint, I would freaking jizz myself.

Owens isn't in this because its obvious this is going to be a guy who transitions to the main roster. Owens is still champ. Balor still has his title match and (hopefully) following program with Owens. Zayn is unlikely because he'll be doin something with Owens upon his return to NXT (I'd imagine.) Breeze, Itami and Neville could all move to the main roster at any moment tbh, especially Neville.

Neville has been at NXT since the start and he's been ready for the call up for a while now, I'd like Bálor to win but I know he's got more to do at NXT. So I'm all for Neville winning

 

Regardless of who wins, it's clear that they're gonna have a great showing in the battle royal and most probably be in the final 4.

I think that might've been because there were 30 participants, maybe they've made it 20 this year for less mistakes.

Last years battle royal meant something, I (along with a lot of other people probably) thought that the winner was gonna mean something and was gonna be pushed. Even though it failed, the build up made it seem like big things were gonna happen for the winner. Whereas this year, I'm just not feeling it. Especially with about 15 of the superstars being confirmed already (and about 11 are shite). This is why I'm happy with this announcement and hoping that the NXT representative makes the battle royal watchable.

My guess like many others is, Neville. He is supposed to be called up shortly so they are probably gonna try and test the waters by having him participate in the battle royal.
