Just having one of those weeks where little things are stacking up quickly, and other people are making my life stressful. I can handle my own comings and goings...but, when other people start throwing sticks in the spokes, I hate that shit. My nerves feel shot, and I don't even personally have anything to worry about...just adopting negative energy from other people...

My entire family just used my cousins surprise birthday party to have this bullshit intervention about my drinking problem. So ALL of my family is here. And the ONLY thing I can think of is singing Amy Winehouses Rehab. Simply because Im not going to any *censored*ing rehab clinic.

Yound very agressive about it. I mean you've just said there is a problem. Have you considered solutions other than rehab?

The PROBLEM is them though. Thats whats they dont get it. Dealing with their issues, protecting my siblings cause Im the oldest. Not being allowed to express how I feel because Ill be weak. Etc. But I cant tell them that because then Ill be using them as an outlet. It sucks.

For many, I wont even say some because that would be ignorant of me. I just never felt comfortable spilling my guts to some random person who is ready to punch the clock when its time. I dont know, maybe Im jaded? Idk.

And yes Im aware thats a therapist but in retrospect they have sessions where you see a shrink in rehab...

Yeag I get what you are saying. I was/am going through smilliar things. However, nothings gets resolved just by saying your drinking is not the problem but the people who are you drinking because of. As people have said, rehab is not that bad of an option. A shrink also. Don't know if you do, but a good psychaitraist can help a bunch.

And baout "punching the clock"... well therapists, psychaitrist, and simillar people... There are limitations to sessions because of reasons that not only have to do with money. Of course it is their job, but still. Well if there is physical problem with your body, it would be a good thing to see a doctor, of course he can be bad also... But I think you can see where I'm getting at. Just like in any profession there are oorly trained people, good ones, and excellent ones. But that's a whole 'nother discussion.

And police training and policing problems is a whole another level.

I'm not going to convince you to go, but I wanted to let you know rehab doesn't make you spill your guts, in fact most doesn't even want you to. That's AA, not rehab. Rehab(usually) is a continuous plan to try to sort the problem of the drinking/drugs itself. It's actually REALLY helpful, I've seen it first hand. They don't treat you like a patient, or a drunk...at least the ones I seen.

Edit: Oh and don't do it for no one but yourself. Otherwise I doubt you'll ever make it.

Apparently microsofts own damned troubleshooting programs can't detect when a fundamental .dll file for their friggin updating system isn't registered or working properly. That's 2 hours of manual troubleshooting i'll never get back..

Drinking doesn't make anything better if you can't function though, it just makes you ignore the problems. Nothing will make shit better other than actually confronting it and doing something about it.

I've always been told "you'll never find the answers to your problems at the end of the bottle" - it's something I try to keep in mind when life gets low and I consider looking for "solutions". Good luck man, I hope it all goes really well for you!

With drinking it's either you love to do it, or you don't. I guess there is the in-between but if you are just doing something you wouldn't do alone just to be social with people then it's probably not something you really love. Not saying this is the case with anyone here but it is a great feeling to be able to say no to a drink and still enjoy hanging out with your friends. Hope all goes well with the re-hab.
