TNA Wrestling - The New Direction

Synopsis:

After the reintroduction of the six sided ring to TNA Wrestling during 2014 and the ever so successful shows in New York City at the Manhattan Center an investor stepped forward and offered Dixie Carter a deal she couldn't refuse to take over the majority shares in TNA Wrestling. With the deal being accepted the investor then got immediately in touch with his contacts getting TNA Wrestling a new television deal on the Showtime Network with their debut to be on the Showtime Next channel.

However with the positives came the negatives and the loss of talent prior to 2015. After the success of Bound For Glory 2014, the latest additions to the TNA Hall of Fame, Bully Ray & Brother Devon, Team 3D saw their contracts come to an end without renewal. There was also the loss of the commentary duo of Mike Tenay & Taz. The knockouts took a blow too as Velvet Sky left with her real life partner, Bully Ray. Along with Velvet Sky saw the walkout of Angelina Love & Brooke Tessmacher.

TNA also then cut ties with Bellator due to their ending relationship with SpikeTV as such Rampage Jackson, Tito Ortiz, King Mo & Lashley were all removed from the TNA roster. But these losses were merely seen as steps in the right direction for the company who then looked straight to hiring the right talent and making new main event talent.

As such we saw the arrival of The Bravado Brothers to the tag team division, Lince Dorado was added to the X-Division alongside AR Fox, Uhaa Nation also joined the roster while Leah Von Dutch and Candice LeRae joined the Knockouts Division. These wrestlers were seen as the future of TNA Wrestling and were hailed as the magnificent seven.

TNA IMPACT on Showtime Next

Mid-Hudson Civic Center, Poughkeepsie, New York

Wednesday 7th January 2015

Josh Lomberger: Welcome everyone to TNA IMPACT and what a show we've got in store for you tonight. I'm Josh Lomberger and joining me on commentary is my good friend, "The Teacher" Matthew Kaye.

Matthew Kaye: Thank you Josh and yes school is back in. We are your new hosts for TNA IMPACT and as Josh promised we do have a great show for you guys tonight as we'll kick off the tournament to crown the new TNA IMPACT World Heavyweight Champion.

Josh Lomberger: Along with with that we've also got action from the Knockouts and the X-Division who are going off the show.

TNA X-Division Match
Homicide Vs. Lince Dorado Vs. Tigre Uno

Ending: Having taken Tigre Uno out in the match from the early goings, Homicide looked like he was ready to win the match after hitting a Gringo Cutter on Lince Dorado; but Tigre Uno was able to break up the count and threw Lince Dorado out of the ring. After turning back around, Tigre Uno walked straight into the path of a Gringo Killa from Homicide which saw Homicide pick up the three count.

Jeremy Borash: Hello everybody i'm Jeremy Borash and i'm currently joined by the TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe; now Joe you're set to face Magnus in one on one action later tonight, what is your game plan for winning this match?

Samoa Joe: Well JB, i've faced Magnus on numerous occasions, and i've also won the Tag Team Championships with him, but tonight Magnus you're going to school and i'm going old school. So at the end of the night you can try your best, but to be the best you've got to beat the best and Joe's gonna kill you!

Singles Match
Eric Young Vs. Ethan Carter III w/ Tyrus

Ending: Having Tyrus at ringside was a benefit to EC3 who used his bodyguard to his advantage to distract the referee and hit Eric Young with a low blow. EC3 covered Eric Young but was only able to get a two count; EC3 then sent Young to the outside to be hit by Tyrus while he distracted the referee. As Tyrus sent Young back into the ring EC3 picked him up for the One Percenter before covering and getting the three count.

Jeremy Borash: With me at this time is the current and reigning TNA World Tag Team Champions, Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards, The Wolves. Now guys i've got to ask you that as we kick off the year on Showtime Next, what are your plans for the TNA World Tag Team Championships?

Eddie Edwards: JB let me tell you one thing, as the reigning champions we look forward to any challenger that comes our way, because being The Wolves the hunt is always on.

Davey Richards: and as Eddie just mentioned, we are always hunting; we are hunting for new challengers all around the world, be it tag teams from Japan, tag teams from Mexico, tag teams from the UK, we invite you to TNA and challenge us for the World Tag Team Championships.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final
Gunner Vs. James Storm

Ending: James Storm took advantage of Gunner from the beginning of the match attacking him during his entrance, but Gunner was able to show Storm why he is called "Mr Intensity" and put up a fight. However Storm didn't show any weaknesses and feigned an injury to take control of the match. With Gunner wondering if Storm was ok, Storm was able to roll Gunner up and used the ropes to give him leverage on a pinfall for the victory. Storm then quickly rolled out of the ring to avoid Gunner who didn't seem happy for falling for Storm's trick.

Jeremy Borash: Ladies and gentlemen my guest at this time is the former Knockouts Champion, Gail Kim. Now Gail you are one of the toughest ladies in the division, however Havok currently reigns supreme over the division...

Gail Kim: Yes she does JB, and there's no doubt about it, i'm going to admit i'm quite impressed by her; but there has been people like her come and go many times before. Remember Awesome Kong, remember SoJo Bolt, hell actually The Beautiful People can be added to that list, but one factor remains, i've never backed down and i'm not going to do that now, so Havok, i'm challenging you for your Knockouts title, what do you say?

TNA Knockouts Match
Candice LeRae Vs. Leah Von Dutch

Ending: In a short but sweet match, Leah Von Dutch proved why she is worthy of being a knockout and showcased what she had learned from Adam "Edge" Copeland in training winning the match with a Spear and covering Candice LeRae for the victory.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final
Magnus Vs. Samoa Joe ©

Ending: The main event of the show went all out as Magnus and Samoa Joe held nothing back against each other. The referee decided to let both men go for blows and didn't count the wrestlers when they went out the ring. Samoa Joe did most damage to Magnus by attacking his arm before finally locking in the Fujiwara Armbar. But Magnus fought out from this and tried his best to take advantage of Joe, but the current X-Division Champion had full control of this match after the Armbar and locked in the Coquina Clutch for the victory as Magnus tapped out.

TNA IMPACT on Showtime Next

First Niagara Center, Buffalo, New York

Wednesday 14th January 2015

Josh Lomberger: Welcome everbody to a brand new TNA IMPACT, i'm your host, Josh Lomberger and joining me is my broadcast colleague, Matthew Kaye; Matthew.

Matthew Kaye: Thank you Josh and what a turn of events we had last week. First of all we saw James Storm & Samoa Joe progress to the TNA World Heavyweight Championship tournament semi finals but we also saw the TNA IMPACT debuts of Leah Von Dutch, Candice LeRae and Lince Dorado.

Josh Lomberger: And what a showing they gave us, which I believe is why tonight we are kicking things off with a TNA Gutcheck Match between Ashton Vuitton, Jake O'Neill and Marshe Rockett so lets send it ringside for the opening contest.

TNA Gutcheck Match

Ashton Vuitton Vs. Jake O'Neill Vs. Marshe Rockett

Ending:
With all three men being known to work in the Chicago area, all three of the guys tried their best to get the fans behind them. However having eliminated Jake O'Neill from the match constantly throwing him to the outside, Marshe Rockett was able to pick up the victory by hitting a Code Red (Canadian Destroyer) on Ashton Vuitton and getting the three count that follows.

Jeremy Borash: Ladies and gentlemen standing with me at this time is "The Cowboy" James Storm. Now Storm last week you qualified for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Semi Finals, however you get to face Samoa Joe in that match, what are your thoughts?

James Storm: My thoughts? My thoughts JB are the same thoughts I had going into the match with Gunner, i'm going into that match and i'm walking out with my hand raised. No matter what i'm gonna be the TNA World Heavyweight Champion and to whoever steps in my way, i'm sorry about yo damn luck!

TNA Knockouts Match
Brittany Vs. Madison Rayne

Ending:
This knockout match saw both women trade multiple blows and have multiple chances of winning the match, however a distraction from Taryn Terell caused Madison Rayne to be hit by a dropkick from Brittany before she finished the match with a Shining Star Press (handspring moonsault) before covering and picking up the three count.

TNA X-Division Match
AR Fox Vs. DJ Z Vs. Low Ki

Ending:
In a very fast paced and over the top match, Low Ki put the boots to DJ Z to pick up a victory in the X-Division; however AR Fox was able to showcase himself in the match with moves such as his Suicide Somersault Senton, 450 Plancha and the Lo Mein Pain. But ultimately it was the Warrior's Way which put DJ Z out for the three count.

Jeremy Borash: Joining me at this time is Mr. Anderson, now Anderson in a short while you're going up against Bram and it is known about his friendship with Magnus, how are you going to combat the chance you could end up losing this match if Magnus causes the referee to get distracted?

Mr Anderson: JB, this is just one of the hurdles you have to overcome in wrestling and i've overcome many hurdles to get here today. As for Bram, you're stepping up a level here my compadre, this is the World Heavyweight Championship we are all fighting for, so bring your A game and i'll be bringing mine. See you out there.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final
Bram Vs. Mr Anderson

Ending: In this brawl, Bram attempted to use his tag team partner, Magnus to assist him in picking up a victory however it turned out to be his downfall as Mr. Anderson won the match via disqualification. However after the match Bram & Magnus continued to brawl with Mr. Anderson until Samoa Joe came to his aid and saw Bram and Magnus retreat from the ring.

Jeff Hardy: Matt have you seen that those Wolves are issuing a challenge to any tag team in the world.

Matt Hardy: There are Jeff, but we've struggled to beat them twice already.

Jeff Hardy: True, but we did have Team 3D to battle against as well. How about one last time, The Hardys take on The Wolves in a ladder match.

Jeff Hardy: I'm down for that, lets just hope they are too.

TNA World Heavyweight Championship Tournament Quarter Final
Bobby Roode Vs. MVP

Ending:
Bobby Roode was able to qualify for the semi final match in the tournament after he was able to put MVP out with a crossface forcing the former IMPACT Director of Operations to tap out. Following the match James Storm stood at the top of the ramp taunting at Bobby Roode that he's going to win the World Heavyweight Championship.

TNA Gutcheck Voting:
Keep Ashton Vuitton
Keep Jake O'Neill
Keep Marshe Rockett

(Please bold who you would like to see remain on the TNA IMPACT Roster)
