While many wrestling fans have been calling for WWE to bring back the Attitude Era, none thought it would be Dixie Carter to bring in the decision for the change. As such over the top gimmicks were dropped and wrestlers were allowed to more express themselves.

IMPACT Wrestling on SpikeTV

Wednesday 3rd September 2014

The Manhattan Center, New York

- IMPACT Wrestling kicked off with an all new introduction video as we see Bobby Lashley hitting the Dominator on many opponents. Bully Ray is seen putting Dixie Carter through a table & Bram hits Abyss with Janice on multiple occasions. This is all mixed in with action from the Knockouts and the X-Division as Edge Of A Revolution by Nickelback plays in the background.

- Following this we are immediately greeted by shots of the raucous crowd at the Manhattan Center in New York. As Mike Tenay and his broadcast colleague, Taz welcome the television audience to the latest edition of IMPACT. However both men were rudely interrupted by MVP, Kenny King, and the TNA World Heavyweight Champion, Bobby Lashley. MVP goes on how Lashley is an unstoppable force in TNA that can't be moved. Kenny King then claims that while he is the king of the night, Lashley is the king of IMPACT. This leads to TNA X-Division Champion, Samoa Joe coming out. Joe tells Lashley that if he wants a challenge, Joe is up for taking him on. MVP then tells Joe that if he wants to take on Lashley he's got no chance as this leads to Kenny King attacking Samoa Joe.

- This leads to the first match of the night as "The King of the Night" Kenny King is set to take on "The Samoan Submission Machine" Samoa Joe. MVP and Bobby Lashley stand at ringside giving King support during this match, however Kenny King is unable to withstand the beating Samoa Joe gave him in the six sided ring. When it came to Joe taking the match out of the ring he had to contend with MVP and Lashley. However Joe was able to take them out before taking Kenny King back into the ring and hitting a Muscle Buster for the win. After the match, MVP and Lashley got into the ring to attack Samoa Joe, but Eric Young & Bobby Roode came running down the ramp to make the save for Samoa Joe.

- After the match we are taken backstage where the Director of Wrestling Operations, Kurt Angle is sitting in his office with Bully Ray & Devon. Kurt congratulates Team 3D on their win last week, however he asks them what match is going to take place this week. Bully Ray quickly answers and tells Angle that fans can be in for a treat, as they decided upon having a tables match.

- Taryn Terrell is standing in the ring telling fans how she can't wait to take on the TNA Knockouts Champion, Gail Kim next week. Taryn mentions that their title match will be contested as a ladder match. However just then the arena fills with darkness as red lights flash around. Taryn stands in the ring with a worried look on her face as Havok makes her way to the ring before taking her out with a HavoKiller (Sit-Out Powerbomb) and then leaving the ring immediately as the fans begin to cheer.

- After a quick advertisement break, "The Monster" Abyss stands in the ring a bin full of weapons. Bram & Magnus then make their way to the ring for this handicap match, Bram is seen wielding Janice, the weapon that Abyss created. Abyss wastes no time getting the match started attacking Magnus and sending him outside the ring to focus on Bram knocking Janice out of his hands. Abyss tried his best to control the match however being outnumbered was not a wise idea as Magnus hit a strong European uppercut leading to Bram hitting Abyss with Janice before Magnus hit him with a Big Boot and covered him for the victory.

- The Wolves, Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards are backstage. They give their opinion on the next match in the TNA Tag Team Championship Series being a tables match and note that it gives Team 3D an advantage to win the series and the TNA Tag Team Championships, however Davey mentions how the duo are fighting champions and will give everything to remain champions.

- Up next is the #1 Contenders Match for the X-Division Championship as Crazzy Steve & Tigre Uno await the arrival of the third competitor, Low Ki. But as Low Ki was making his entrance to the ring he was attacked by Manik & The Great Sanada while, James Storm watches on. Storm then takes the microphone to run down the wrestlers in the ring. After a quick commercial break, it was announced Sanada & Manik were added to the match. Manik immediately took out Tigre Uno and brawled with him in the audience. While this was happening, The Great Sanada spit mist into the face of Crazzy Steve before hitting him with a Shining Wizard and covering him for the victory.

- Matt & Jeff Hardy were backstage as they was approached by a cameraman who asked them what they thought of Team 3D's choice of match. Matt Hardy mentioned how he is looking forward to beating Team 3D at their own game but mentioned that he has to keep an eye on The Wolves. Jeff Hardy then said how The Hardy's have been through plenty of wars with Team 3D, so they look forward to the challenge.

- Bobby Roode vs Eric Young is the first main event as both guys are set to crown a #1 Contender for the TNA World Heavyweight Championship. However as both wrestlers know each other inside out this match was an evenly fought contest that saw plenty of false finishes keeping the crowd at bay. The match came to an end however when Bobby Roode was able to lock Eric Young in the Sharpshooter which saw him tap out. After the match Roode picked up Young and shook hands with him.

- The main event however was next as Team 3D made their way to the ring with tables in their hands. Following them were The Wolves who like Team 3D took tables to surround the ring. Just then The Hardy's quickly ran down to the ring and began attacking Team 3D and The Wolves but were out numbered. Bully Ray & Devon threw Matt Hardy out of the ring while Davey Richards & Eddie Edwards continually kicked Jeff Hardy in the corner.

Team 3D were most likely to end the match as the duo had Eddie Edwards lined up for a 3-D but Jeff Hardy was able to move the table in time. Matt then quickly made his way into the ring as The Hardy's took over the match. But things quickly changed yet again as Jeff was ready to hit a Swanton Bomb on Devon through the table, Devon rolled off the table and Davey Richards pushed Jeff Hardy off the top rope and through the table to win the match.

Quick Results:
Samoa Joe Def. Kenny King
Bram & Magnus Def. Abyss
The Great Sanada Def. Crazzy Steve, Tigre Uno & Manik (TNA X-Division #1 Contenders Match)

Bobby Roode Def. Eric Young, (TNA World Heavyweight Championship #1 Contenders Match)
