Midcard Title Unification Idea - Building Talent

John Cena is the face of the company, he isn't going to be stuck on the B brand.

Cena can turn the B brand into an A brand, especially if they move the show to another channel. They gave Cena the B brand's title and had him lose the title.

The brands aren't strong enough to have a split is correct. I mean, back in the Ruthless Aggression era people watched both RAW and Smackdown.

1. Both brands were stacked with big names from top to bottom. Nowadays people barely watch Smackdown. Its just not the same anymore like it was back in 03-06. Now that could be WWE's fault for how their going about doing things but what is honestly the difference? Have things really changed since the Attitude Era-RA? Is this more the WWE fault or the wrestlers?

2. People say the talent is much better than in the past which may be true. But alot of these guys LACK character. Its hard to connect to alot of these guys and hence ratings are lower than in the past. WWE is Entertainment first, Wrestling second. Thats why in the past they succeeded. The characters were all connectible even to the jobbers. Like the OP said, the man makes the title. Back in the day you didnt even need a title to be relevant.

3.These wrestlers just need to step their game up when given the opportunity. This is why you continue to see Cena, Orton etc and this is why you continue to see old guys get pushed.

1. Due to SmackDown barely being above Main Event & Superstars. Things have changed, yes, but that is down to the writers giving guys shit & burying naturally over guys like Christian & Zack Ryder. The wrestlers can only go with what they're given, with a little lee-way for guys like Cena & Orton. Give SmackDown its own roster & identity again like in the Ruthless Aggression era and then watch the ratings rise.

2. Again, want to know why so many guys like identity? They have no segments or promos to make one due to Cena & co. hogging the spotlight. Put someone like Big E Langston on SmackDown! and guys like Cena & Orton on RAW & watch Big E magically get his own identity & persona.

3. The thing is, they do step their game up when given a chance and WWE ruins them. Look at Nexus, Ryback, among others. At one point they were the hottest thing in the company, then WWE screwed it up & now look at them. Bringing old guys back is not the fix. Give it 20 years and all the guys who are in their 40s now will be 60 & all the 50-year old guys will be 70. WWE will only have themselves to blame when they run out of big names.
