JTS
By no means you have to agree with this, but to give people something to guide themselves with I think this is a fair way to define the Eras. Attitude Era WM14 with Austin being cemented as the man and WWE starting it's dominance in the Monday Night Wars all the way to WM17, considered the swan song of the Attude Era, and the first ppv post-MNWs. Invasion and the road to WM18 A transistional period where WWE tried to squeeze the most they could of what their Attitude Era stars had left and use the stars they've gotten from WCW and ECW. For the sake of this topic matches in this period should go under Attitude Era. Ruthless Agression Era The change from WWF to WWE and the rise of new flagship bearers in Cena, Batista, Edge, and Orton who shared the stage with still thriving veterans in Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and The Undertaker. The era is characterized for still aiming for the same audience of the Attitude Era with the catch being that there was no competition and the Brand Extension was in full force throught it all. This era would have ended in 2009 when WWE starting trying to appeal more too children and rules such as no blading went in full force. This era's swan song in my opinion would be the Shawn Michaels vs Chris Jericho feud in 2008 which was the last literal blood feud in WWE with the newly-signed sponsors complaining about the blood and WWE immediately implementing the aforementioned rule. 2009-Transistional Year There was a backdraft with older fans not liking the new family friendly direction of the company and buzzwords like the WWE Universe were not so easily accepted as previous ones like Ruthless Agression. Also the golden trio of HBK, HHH, and Taker had their final run as regular peformers and CM Punk had his first real run as a Main Eventer and Sheamus was pushed too the moon.Let's put this one under RA era. The Modern Era-2010-11 No need to explain this
Ǝpitome
When the Chris Benoit situation happened, that's when I'd say WWE changed.
