I think this is an interesting choice, I was expecting to see someone mid 20s again but this will hopefully provide a nice change of pace, as I thought Tennant and Smith were very similar in their portrayal of the Doc.

On a side note, I don't particularly like the idea of using someone they've cast twice before, because I feel it ruins some of the continuity. I get it's been done before many times and he will probably do the role justice, it's just a little pet peeve of mine.

Saw the episode from Peter Davison transition to Colin Baker, baker is a dick when he sets up and looks at the camera. Lol

Also saw the episode transition from Tennant to Smith. good episode.

Only question I have though as I'm new to the series is does their regeneration process take one year to fully complete? The episode showed Tennant helping others towards the end then returning and asks the young lady what year is it?

In my opinion David Tennant was the greatest Doctor, I did like Christopher Ecclestone though. The next Doctor is the last whether we like it or not (I'm sure it'll be rebooted in a couple of years), the Doctor can only regenerate 13 times and so for that. I want the last Doctor to be Harry Lloyd.

They already threw out the whole "limited to 13 regenerations" in an episode of The Sarah Jane Adventures. I think that was just there in the beginning because they had NO IDEA how popular the show would be and how long it would last.

When did it say that in The Sarah Jane Adventures? I've watched every episode, can't believe I missed that.

Hasn't the twelve regenerations been brought up again, recently?

No it doesn't. That was Rose, the Doctor's first companion of the revived series. If I remember correctly, the doctor was visiting people he encountered (whilst Tennant was the Doctor) before he actually regenerated. He couldn't actually visit Rose at present since he left her on Bad Wolf Bay, so he went back to see her before they met. When he asked her what year it was, her reply was January 1st 2005 which would be the year that Rose and the Doctor met.

I only caught a couple of the Sarah Jane Adventures episodes, but I think it was the one where she was getting married or possibly the one with Jo Grant in it. I know the segment has been mentioned a few times because of it.

Ok.. Wrong episode. It's TSJA episode - The Death of the Doctor..

I don't know tho, it kind of seemed satirical.

Edit: I just read up on it and it looks as though you're right, I hate to say it but I want the 13th Doctor to be the last. The more doctors there are the more it's getting blemished.

Anyone else hear the rumors that BBC America isn't pleased with Capaldi as the next DR, and wants to do their own version?

First I've heard of it. Kinda laughable rumor, too. Where's all the hate towards Capaldi coming from? Other than Twilight fan girls who wanted a young Doctor like Tennant and Smith?

Pertwee was always my favorite.
