Favorite Song Lines/Qoutes.

Recommended Posts

Boredom's struck once again, figured I might as well make another thread.

I'm sure we all have some of these. What are you favorite lines from any given song?

I'll start:

"I’m the true Fist of the North Star!"
- Method Man, "P.LO. Style"
"I never sleep, because sleep is the cousin of death."
- Nas, "NY State of Mind:
"Let he who is without sin cast the first stone. After you who's last, it's Doom, he's the worst known."
- MF DOOM, "Money Folder"
"Human beings in a mob
What's a mob to a king? What's a king to a God?
What's a God to a non-believer who don't believe in anything?
Will he make it out alive? Alright, alright, no church in the wild..."
- Frank Ocean, "No Church In The Wild"

Everything here so cold

Everything here so dark

I remember it as from a dream

The corner of this time

- The Freezing Moon by Mayhem

Well I could call out when the going gets tough.
The things that we've learnt are no longer enough.
No language, just sound, that's all we need know,
To synchronise love to the beat of the show

- Transmission by Joy Division

Someone take these dreams away,
That point me to another day,
A duel of personalities,
That stretch all true realities

- Dead Soulds by Joy Division

Take your hatred out on me
Make your victim my head
You never ever believed in me
I am your tourniquet

- Tourniquet by Marilyn Manson
Cut me - show me - enter - I am
willing and able and never any danger to myself
Knowledge in my pain, knowledge in my pain
Or was my tolerance a phase?
Empathy, out of my way
I can't die
- Purity by Slipknot
So sacrifice yourself, and let me have what's left.
I know that I can find the fire in your eyes.
I'm going all the way, get away, please
- Breath by Breaking Benjamin

3{"Never saw a man walk on water
Never met a man who walked on water
But I still believe
"}

Danny Gokey - I Still Belive

4{"Well now you're gonna feel it in your heart. Like a bullet in your chest"}

Daley - Smoking Gun

When they've tortured and scared you for twenty-odd years
Then they expect you to pick a career
When you can't really function you're so full of fear

- "Working Class Hero"; John Lennon

Sometimes I feel like a motherless child

- "Freedom"; Richie Havens

This unrequited love
To me it's nothing but a one-man cult

- "Bad Religion", Frank Ocean

I believe a woman's temple
Gives her the right to choose, but baby don't abort
I believe that marriage isn't
Between a man and woman but between love and love

- "We All Try"; Frank Ocean

If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?
I mean I write poems in these songs dedicated to you
When you’re in the mood for empathy, there’s blood in my pen

- "Poetic Justice", Kendrick Lamar

Seen a light-skinned *Censored* with his brains blown out
At the same burger stand, where ---- hang out
Now this is not a tape recorder saying that he did it
But ever since that day, I was lookin' at him different

- "m.A.A.d city"; Kendrick Lamar

Living in a world that come with Plan B
Cause Plan A only can make another mistake
And you can’t see success coming from Plan C

- "Real", Kendrick Lamar

If my manager insults me again I will be assaulting him
After I *Censored* the manager up then I'm gonna shorten the register up

Doesn't get much more awesome than this... (Red Hot Chili Peppers - Minor Thing from the 2002 By the Way album)

You've got your bit part, Mozart
Hot dart acceleration
Pop art, pistol chasin'
Cat fight intimidation
All out interfacing
Black star motivation

I'm pretty sure it's "love is not just a verb, it's you looking for it maybe"

The whole song is just great really though.

Yeah it is I just copied and pasted from someone who apparently doesn't know the lyrics.

"I know it's mad, but if I went to Hell would you come with me or just leave?" - Panic at the Disco, Do You Know What I'm Seeing?

  • 2 weeks later...

"Every saint has a past, every sinner has a future."

Ludo's Topeka. I'm not a religious person whatsoever, but you don't have to interpret the lyric so literally. Always dug that whole song a lot.

"Band-Aid, just a bloody Band-Aid

That's all I ever really was to you, Eloise

Just a soldier with a syndrome

The dreams of children's screams

You molded, you shaped

Like a God who loathes to create

Band-Aids, two infected Band-Aids

That's all we were to each other, Eloise

Just a couple of stupid kids

Throwing a ball back and forth

Just to see who drops it first

Well, think fast, killer"

Say Anything's Eloise. Always really liked the intensity Max puts into the monologue within the song. We've all felt this type of anger towards a past lover at some point. Just written and delivered perfectly by Max.

Every line in "We All Try" by Frank Ocean. It's just that damn beautiful. Got too many to list, but these immediately come to mind:

It's probably been twelve years since my father left, left me fatherless
And I just used to say I hate him in dishonest jest
When honestly I miss this *Censored*, like when I was six
And every time I got the chance to say it I would swallow it

- From "Chum" by Earl Sweatshirt

She's distracted
By my reflectors, man, I can tell the chick's attracted
My wheels spoke to her, my Schwinn is a chick magnet
Bagging up chicks like a bag of chips
With a bag of prophylactics as big as Mick Jagger lips
Shagging is something I'm a pro at, but I ain't practicing shit
Allen Iverson of safe sex, condoms are for practice, man, I skip practice
Flip backwards while I flip this bike on its banana seat
My fantasy is to have you land where the kickstand is
Got this bitch gagging, they call me the broad killer
I'm the cousin of Godzilla, cause I spit fire and my dick is draggin'
Zig zaggin' up the avenue, pulling these chicks in my antagonist wagon
Screamin'

- Eminem's verse in "C'mon Let Me Ride" by Skylar Grey (the whole song itself is fun, though)

And of course this too:

If I told you that a flower bloomed in a dark room, would you trust it?

- "Poetic Justice", Kendrick Lamar

"I never sleep, because sleep is the cousin of death."
- Nas, "NY State of Mind:

"I came to this world with nothing, and I leave with nothing but love. Everything else is just borrowed. "

"If you're going through Hell, keep going. "

"For billions of years since the outset of time

Every single one of your ancestors survived

Every single person on your mum and dad's side

Successfully looked after and passed onto you life

What are the chances of that like?

It comes to me once in a while

And everywhere I tell folk it gets the best smile"

"Two great European narcotics,
Alcohol and Christianity,
I know which one I prefer"

All from Mike Skinner of The Streets

Well accept the second one, he ripped that off of churchill.
