Hopefully they finally fixed their bullshit controllers.

What do you mean? Apart from the triggers on the 360 being better the PS3 has better everything else. The buttons have a better feel and the deadzones on the PS3 are a lot smaller. I guess the shape is preference,

I even grew up on PlayStations since PS1, and didn't ever have or really even play an XBOX until I got my 360, so it's not really a Microsoft bias thing. And that also made me accustomed to PS controllers. I don't know though, after playing Xbox I feel like PlayStation's are just clearly inferior in comfort and practicality. I literally hate playing with PS3 controllers.

Welp i better get some money together to preorder this shit.

THis.

So would buying a PS3 like I planned to do for Christmas be stupid now.

It kind of depends. One of the things I love currently about my PS3 is that I can play PS3 games on it, but I can also download P1 games on it (Final Fantasy, Crash Bandicoot, Spyro) plus I can download PS2 games on it. (Grand Theft Auto Series, God of War in HD, Sly in HD, Jak & Daxter, Ratchet and Clank in HD). So basically I had 3 systems on 1 console.

Now if you don't care about the past 3 series or maybe you have the games and systems from the PS1 and PS2 era and don't care about PS3 games, then get a PS4. But if you want to get all the past games and current gen games I don't think its a "stupid" choice to still get a PS3 and then you can save up for a PS4. Or get both if you have the money (if you have the money you can buy me one too since I was the first to help you ;-) )

*sigh* Already? I don't even have that much PS3 games and I got my PS3 four years ago.

What do you mean by "already?" I know the PS3 has only been out for 6-7 years but look back at the previous generation. The PS2 was 6 years old and the PS3 game out. It doesnt mean that games will stop being made for the PS3, it just means Sony is ready to introduce their next system and get the ball rolling.

Also how come you don't have many PS3 games? Are you not a fan of the exclusives like Uncharted, Little Big Planet, Sly, Gran Turismo, MLB The Show, God of War ect...? Or are there other reasons?

Games are expensive as *Censored*, especially in this shitty country. In most shops a new game would be $90+.

....Ok, that's a pretty good excuse lol. Game prices are pretty ridiculues which is probably why I won't get any new system right away. (Although PS4 will probably be the soonest) For me I always wait till Christmas Time / Black Friday. Instead of paying $60 for 1 game I can typically get 3-4 for the same price. Sure I won't be the first to beat the game and I need to avoid spoilers all the time but the game is still enjoyable and saving money is just as nice.

Didn't Sony say recently that they would let Microsoft make the first move?

It may just be a new exclusive, or some form of new 'experience' coming to the Playstation 3. Hell, it could just be an announcement of when they will make the big reveal. The Playstation 3 has a lot of life left in it still, a lot of potential still relatively untapped... and new exclusives releasing this year.

The PS4's new dualshock is said to have a touchpad that will replace the start & sellect buttons & a share button that let you take videos/screenshots. Apparently the system will also be more powerful than the new Xbox.

You beat me to the punch as I was just going to post this. If true (take it with a grain of salt for now) I'm pretty excited about the ability to record the last 15 minutes of gameplay and upload it. It's something that I've wanted to do for a while with walkthroughs and WWE matches but never really knew how or had the money to do it. Being built into the PS4 could be a big deal.
