I look forward to WWE Games eventually having customizable A.I.

I have heard that such a feature exists in the Fire Pro series (and perhaps others), but I do think it would make for a better offline experience, especially with custom superstars.

There are so many parameters that could be considered, but I think that starting out small and building up in future iterations is the way to go.

For example, we have the basic Good Guy/Bad Guy alignments, but it could be taken a few steps further. A player could set a character as a ‘tweener’, with no real alignment towards good or bad, or to take it even higher, set up tendencies for various actions such as counter animations and frequency of use for things like specific weapons.

Going further into the character tendency, there’s also the possibility of determining which moves the AI uses in order to set up other moves. In WWE Smackdown! Here Comes The Pain, characters like Goldberg would make attempts at performing their ‘Moves of Doom’ combinations to finish matches (as long as their moves weren’t altered). Having this level of control would add to the longevity of the game.

Never happening. I want it to, but AI has never been their priority, other than making it aggressive.

Yeah Aggressiveness hasn't really made it better. But I won't doubt the chances of it happening.

Well...here's why I do doubt it; custom AI is kind of complicated for a casual player. Those little kids would get their hands on it and not know what in the heck to do with it. It's even more of a niche thing than the wrestling game itself.

It can easily be simplified for casual players while still maintaining advanced options for Experienced players who wish to take it further.

Add this functionality to WWE Universe Mode and you've really got something. Players capable of modifying the frequency of the AI changes while also maintaining some measure of control.

Example: Cena's not turning heel any time soon, if a player was so inclined, they could set it so that the Universe AU doesn't turn him heel or split up the tag team he's in or w/e if you don't want to.

Or if you have someone heavily reliant on a gimmick like The Undertaker, you can have him excluded from certain cutscenes that do not fit him.

So much potential. I feel the discussion of it is worth it.

Another addition to the long list of tragedies when it comes to this game. I don't expect or even want a customizable a.i. option that is as specific as the one in fire pro, but could we at least do some specifics? Determine how often the person does diving moves, link certain sigs to certain finishers, stuff like that. It would be great if I could chose how often a certain character will go for a pin or whether that character will do a finish as soon as it's available or wait until his/her opponent is severely damaged.

But alas... no. It's never gonna happen because not enough people care.

on SvR 06 you could set the A.I. Settings, i remember Syvain Grenier was a pissed off guy that when you started to beat him he would go a chair under the ring, Rey would only do 'non-lifting' moves, Batista would knock you down on the floor, Angle used only technichal moves and when losing a moonsault... and on CAW mode you could choose two settings for your CAW

Well I know it's there cause jack swagger most of the time when he has the upper hand he spams the hell out of the rear running German suplex so does regal so I'm thinking they have some ai's set to do things character specific. CENA has actually manually done his five moves of doom (shoulderblock shoulderblock spinning powerbomb fks AA) so I know the ai logic is there just not used to its full potential IMO.
