For those who are asking for Fighting Styles to be brought back question

Recommended Posts

Anyone who has played most of the games remembers the Fighting Styles that where in the past games, stances to selective moves you could do via the Fighting Style such as RVD's fighting Style allowed you to Hop on the top rope, Hit a running kicking the chair into the opponents face attack and Jeff Hardy's Pre-set Moveset W/ Fighting Style allowed you to do a Swantom Bomb off the ladder Animation.

But those where the past games, about Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 they where removed for butchered "Fighting Style" Choices =_=" that turned out to be an abused pile of rubbish (AKA SVR 2008 as a whole :hqhq: )

Now for the Original Actual Fighting styles, in Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 there was very little compared to the other games because not many of the superstars/Divas had a unique fighting stance anymore; so here is the question what Unique non-generic Fighting styles would they be able to put in WWE'13 since still not many Superstars/Divas have a unique fighting style or Stance anymore.

stances are generic these days but some stances vary a little bit. Undertaker for example has his fists up for his stance

Well I was kinda meaning for those superstars that weren't in the past; examples: Zach Ryder.

i guess there's be a regular stance for his case i guess

I do not want fighting styles back, i just want the AI to take who it's playing as into consideration. If the AI is Sin Cara for instance, it should be running around, hitting the high flying stuff. If it's playing as a big guy who's known as a strong man, than they should be using powerful attacks and such. And, if in the case of Daniel Bryan or such, the AI should be working the limbs and getting ready for a submission hold.

In other words, I just want the AI to be smarter.

I'd like fighting styles but not the way it was done in 08, like make Stone Cold a brawler type, which makes the AI do more strikes and your momentum goes up higher when you do strikes or certain signature moves he does. With Mysterio or other cruiserweights it could go up by the amount of reversals or dives you do.

I hated those fighting styles in 08 not to mention they limited moves... Now as jaitsu said if the ai is sin cara he should be flying around the ring and atleast targeting the arm for the la mistica... If its big show he should be working on the neck and back wearing his opponent down with his sheer power

its not about having the diversity. Its about having a few types of fighting styles and giving them to superstars based on their attributes. That is, unless they infact do have a unique style like Taker, as someone mentioned already.

What I'm saying is, give ''cheerful'' stars some hop hop happy stances, give heels some 'intimidating stare' stances, give big guys lazier stances, etc. And just give them to people where it fits. This way you achieve a somewhat unique stance for everyone, while people with unique stances do get their thing.

I think fighting styles should mean how much of something a superstar does in the ring, not what they can and cannot do. For example Sin Cara should do a lot of running attacks and diving off the ropes but he should still be allowed to body slam other guys or do some power moves. Also, big guys like Big Show and Khali would go for more power moves and grapples but you could still give them a hurricarrana if you wanted to. This way the cpu does what they are supposed to do but if you are controlling them you still have options as to what you want to do with them...

As far as SvR 2008 goes, I LOVED those fighting styles, and in fact, it's one of my favorite wrestling games ever. I had a lot of fun with it. But I know that's not what you're talking about.

What you really mean is fighting stances, right?

To put it politely, Hell No. Don't even get me started on why Smackdown Vs Raw 2008 out of the none spin of variety or other wrestling game is the worst in the series., back in Smackdown! Just bring It! - Smackdown Vs Raw 2007 we had Fighting Stances (I believe I switched up words when I originally posted this).

I honestly didn't think there were people who legitimately liked the Fighting Styles of Smackdown Vs. RAW 2008. To me, they were extremely limiting and took away from the realism.

For example, Undertaker has that flying clothesline he does while running. Well in SVR 2008, That move was restricted to the High Flyer style and as such, Undertaker (being a Brawler/Powerhouse Hybrid) was not allowed to use it.

Plus the abilities were generally broken. Hardcore users would repeatedly heal themselves with the Bloodshed ability, Brawler's Fists of Fury and Ground and Pound Abilities were easily abused with attacks that couldn't be countered (Fists of Fury could only be countered on the first hit while Ground and Pound had Face-pulling), while also contributing to the infamous Freeze Glitch. High Flyers also had the easily abused Evasive Roll ability.

It was just poorly designed, with little in the way of balance offline or online.

On the subject of Fighting Stances, I admit, that I did like them when they were around but at present I feel they are unnecessary. They're not 'realistic' because you don't see wrestlers in these stances on TV for any length of time if at all. That said, I can't see a reason to bring them back and still be realistic.
