maskedmaniac
I tried to give this game a chance but I'm lost. Every time I put it back in my PS2 and try to play it's just too damn confusing. I want to edit a wrestlers gear but it doesn't let me, the only thing I can change are his gloves for some damn reason. I want to create a new wrestler but first I have to create a new league and copy an existing player yet I can't do shit after that. Worse thing is the game-play for me, I tried to have a match and 90% of the time my opponent grabbed me and just let me go. How the hell do you play this game? I seriously just have to give up on this, looks like a lot of fun but man it's a pain in the ass!

Dakota K'
This has to be a troll, right? I want to edit a wrestlers gear but it doesn't let me, the only thing I can change are his gloves for some damn reason. Are we supposed to believe that you never pressed either circle or square? While one opens/expands any edit-tab, the other even gives you the option to open/close ALL of them. Every gamer ever tries out every button when stuck. So aside from a seriously broken controller without working buttons it is not possible to not get this. I want to create a new wrestler but first I have to create a new league and copy an existing player yet I can't do shit after that. Again just blatant disregard of the circle and square button. Plus neither do you need to create a new league/fed to create a new edit, nor do you have to use an already made edit as a base. That is wrong. Period. Worse thing is the game-play for me, I tried to have a match and 90% of the time my opponent grabbed me and just let me go. How the hell do you play this game? I seriously just have to give up on this, looks like a lot of fun but man it's a pain in the ass! You sound like that other dude who's been trolling this board for a while now. But if this is, although I highly doubt it, not a poor attempt at trolling and you just "missed" 2 out of 4 facebuttons, then like hockeyfan4life said head on over to the FPC, or the Fire Pro Wrestling Arena, for all the guides you'll ever need. maskedmaniac
No troll, and yeah I figured it out about the square and circle buttons. Still it's frustrating how you have to do the colors one square at a time. From what I've noticed there are no preset colors you can choose right away, like if you choose a certain pair of pants, they are black and you just can't make them orange, you gotta fiddle around with the RGB to get the color you want. The gameplay also throws me off a little. I think I'll just stick to HCTP on PS2 and watching FPR videos on youtube, thanks guys..

Dakota K'
fire pro wrestling arena never heard of it is the site any good? just wondering Well, most of the "old" FPC guys have moved over there due to FPC not getting a lot of service anymore (several things don't work anymore, it's down for a few days every now an then, ect.) So yeah, FPA is the place to be if you are interested in FPR. Also pretty much the only place that still provides new content.

Dakota K'
I can't actually post the link due to the board rules around here. But type fpwarena into google and choose the forum.

Raddad88
Just play the game for a bit, you can spend hours and hours editing things, but if you pop into a match and just get the shit kicked out of you it's not really worth it. It takes a bit to get use to, after a week though I was up to the hardest setting and having heaps of fun. Then my PS2 broke..
Nemesis Nosferatu
I think FPR controls are hard Agreed. I've had the game for the past 2 years and still haven't figured out the controls for this game. Once I get tired of this avatar- styled Fire Pro that I just downloaded for 360, I'm gonna look for an online instructional manual for the game. I originally bought FPR at a second hand pawn shop and when I opened up the case for the first time, I realized that the only game manual that was inside... was entirely in French... which is also a language I do not speak nor can I read! Oh well, I'll figure them out one day.

maskedmaniac
Been playing it today and realize you have to press a button as soon as you are in a grapple. The kick in the balls here is that you have to "walk into your opponent" to initiate a grapple. Well when I try to "initiate" a grapple I get punched in the face. It's pretty damn frustrating, the AKI games are still my go-to games for having great matches, and fun.

For what it's worth: When you grapple at the start of the match, start with the square moves (weak moves). Then as time goes on, start using the X moves (Medium damage moves). Then later you would use the circle moves (Strong grapple moves). Eventually you'll be able to easily hit your finishing move, whatever it may be. This helped me out when I was just getting used to the controls.
c3na
Been playing it today and realize you have to press a button as soon as you are in a grapple Yes - in FPR the timing is everything. The buttonmashing will lead you nowhere, even it will cause you to lose the upperhand. If you press the button even once but you were the first to press it - you will win the grapple
maskedmaniac
Yeah I finally won my first match a few days ago. It's a cool game I guess but I prefer the game play like the AKI games.
