TotallySam Posted March 23, 2012 Report Share Posted March 23, 2012 Having a mostly black attire draws attention away from irrelevant things like the tights that the superstar is wearing and makes the audience focus on the superstar and their matches. I remember I would watch videos of Edge when his tights were just bright blue, or purple, or red, and my focus would just shift all the time from "wow, Edge is doing a really great job in this match" to "omg his tights are just ... so purple". doing away with a lot of color can really help neutralize a superstar's character. People take someone more seriously in black than, say, a bright blue or purple or red or green, etc.so rather than seeing superstars as the flashy over-the-top characters of the 90s, we see them as superstars who don't need bright, flashy costumes to draw. I think black is just a common colour. If something doesn't need to be a specific colour, it's black. There's no meaning or anything behind it. Thank you.
