Angel With The Burnt Wings
IF YOUR GOING TO POST THIS SOMEWHERE, I SIMPLY ASK FOR SOME CREDIT Here is a guide to create pixel pefect logos in Paint Tool. Step 1 First off, open the image you want to add to your game in Photoshop. Step 2 You now need to change the image size so it fits into paint tool. To do this go to Image/Image Size. If your image is wider than it is tall, change the image width to either 128 or 256. Or if it taller than it is wide, change the height instead. Make sure you tick 'Constrain Proportions' so you image doesnt get squashed. Step 3 Now you need to simplify the image so it doesnt have multiple tones of one colour. To do this go to Image/ Image Mode/ Indexed Colour. Now change the palette to 'Local (Adaptive)'. Then change the amount of colours to how ever many colours you want to simplify your image to. In my case, I will use 2 (Black and Yellow). Step 4 You will now need to add a pixel grid. If you are using Photoshop CS5, you can skip this part, as Photoshop CS5 automatically adds a grid when you zoon in far enough. So scroll down to Step 5 Firstly go to View/ Show/ Grid. If your grid doesnt wrap around 1 pixel, go to Edit/ Preferences/ Guides, Grids & Slices. Then change the Settings for 'Gridline Every' and 'Subdivisons' both to '1'. Step 5 Now press Ctrl+R to show the ruler, then right click the ruler and set it to pixels. These numbers will represent the numbers in Paint Tool, The X axis being the top ruler, Y being the side ruler. Now simply copy the image across using a 1 pixel brush and the fill tool in PT. Xbox Live Uploads Nexus Logo - Low Res. Tags Nexus Logo Legend.Killer. Angel With The Burnt Wings
It is not a hack, you are simply copying the picture you see on your computer screen, into paint tool, pixel by pixel.
jweb1331
so am i drawing it or am i missing something
Angel With The Burnt Wings
Your drawing it, but just not free-hand (or free-thumb ). You are transferring the pixel you see on photoshop, when you zoom in. Into paint tool. I cannot explain it more than that.
Perfect Weapon.
Yeah, the same method was posted last year. I only really used it once, creating the Hart Dynasty logo. It turned out awesome. It took about 2 hours though. So yeah, the method isn't hard. It's just boring and takes forever.
jweb1331
like i said im new at that stuff but, i got it now your more or less just using the grid to know where to place the designs.

Justice
This is the same method I used last year and for ring logos in Fire Pro Returns. I agree, it is tedious and painful, but it yields amazingly accruate results as long as you resize your image right. @SB_Punk: You can download a free program called Gimp. It is the same thing as Photoshop. The commands may be slightly different, but it will still work awesome @Legend_Killer: As a seventh step, you could add Select>Colour Range (I think is the command). What this will do is, you turn this on, select a pixel and the rest of the colours will be faded or grayed out (depending on your version of PS). This really helps speed things up, especially when you want to go for extreme accuracy on more detailed designs.
belucheez
Work in GIMP?
TheCuttingEdge™
It probably doesn't give as exact a result, but I use Paint and just put a grid over it. Works pretty well as an alternative for thoses without Photoshop.

SVRFanatic93
How exactly do you do it after you've got all this stuff done? I am not sure what the ruler does or where to draw what... I'm really confused...
Justice
The ruler is a ruler. You turn it on in your chosen image-editing program so you can see where your cursor is. So say you have a blue pixel @ 50/75. You know to go into your paint tool design and place a blue pixel @ 50/75. Think of it as tracing without putting one monitor on top of the other

McCHitman
This method works for creating spot on logos, but it's super tedious for anything consisting of more than 3 colors. Good post though.
