Up2Sp33d 2K11- Thr33X Originals

Thr33X

Recommended Posts

Once again, it's time for a new showcase thread of the new game, and despite the HUGE drawback of transparency I'm going full power this year with some familiar faces and lots of new ones. But before that, as always...I have to lay down some rules to the "critics" out there.

THREAD RULES
1) To all of the typical haters out there, keep your negative comments out of my thread.

2) Constructive criticism is always appreciated, but bear in mind that unless otherwise noted, most of the work I post is final versions, so no further adjustments will be made to them.

3) This showcase is dedicated to my work in the game and the fans of my work. If my CAWS are not your cup of tea, there's no need of posting that fact. My preferences are mine and yours are yours. No disrespect intended but...I really don't care about what you may "like" or "prefer" in your originals. If you don't like what you see, hit the Back button and keep it moving. I'm sure there are plenty of other creators out there who's work you'll enjoy. Consider yourself in the same boat at those covered in point #1 up there.

4) For the time being, I've decided that I will make my CAWS editable. Please don't be the idiot to try to copy a Thr33X Original and upload him/her as yours. You'll be flagged in a nanosecond for your efforts.
Now with that out of the way, I thought I'd do things differently this year. Normally I kind build up to the guy most people want to see. This year, he's the first CAW I'm working on, sooooooooooooo...

RIOT

The challenge this year is the fact that the tattoo designs I've used for him for years are now gone, as is the zombie make-up I used for his mask. That forced me to go with the alternate style mask I made for him in 2008 I believe, which is actually the first mask style used for him in the Smackdown series of games. He's actually 90% complete, moveset is done and entrance. All he needs is some alternate attires and he's done.

11/23-PAINT TOOL BLENDING UPDATED!!!
MAJOR NEWS
This will be put into my first post as well, cuz it's well...major, lol.

I'm sure you've all seen the back of my heavily tatted rookie Legionarius from 2010 in my rotating sig. I thought that the lack of transparency would ultimately kill any chance of recreating him in 2011. Well, after hours of tweaking and trial and error, not only will he live, but I've found the sought after "DaVinci Code"...an almost perfect skintone blend for tattoos in PAINT TOOL, that will match up with the RGB values of the designs in CAW mode proper.

The magic numbers are X:1, Y:210 and Shade:45

As of right now, these are for the default skintone the model has when you initially fire it up. The shade can then be adjusted to fit to whichever skintone you will be using, lighter for the lighter skins and darker for the darker, obviously. You can also mess around with the X to get a closer tone, but the Y should remain at 210. I'm still experimenting myself, but at least now we have something to work with, right?

Here's one that should help a lot of people out if you haven't gotten the trick down yet. It's a YT vid from dlaetre, a member of a CAW show clan called "The Round Table" I'm cool with a few members of showing how to properly color tattoo designs. He shows how it works for both light and dark skin tones.

One thing I've noticed already about the 2011 CAWs is people still make the black attires too dark. I don't know if this is cos of the pictures being taken on phones etc or if its something so easily fixed. I'd like to suggest to everyone that you put your CAW in the ring with a 'real' wrestler who you know will be wearing a lot of black and compare them to see what I mean. This is something I only really began to see in 2008s game although I did it on purpose in Raw 2 to make the character entirely jet black and therefore losing all his 3D shading etc to become a flat silhouette. It was an experimant but its beyond the point. I'm just saying, have a look at some of the preset guys, compare your blacks.

Nice CAW here btw

Is that red thing on the boots a logo or is that 2 sets of knee pads? That guy looks bloody evil :o
It's the actual boots themselves. More boot this version have the option to change color of different parts that you couldn't in 2010.

Almost done with Riot, one more attire to go. As it stands he has:
1) Original Attire (seen above)
2) Axe Murderer Attire (wearing a hockey mask, based on Jason Voorhies and some hockey masked goons I saw on the defunct APB game)
3) Vincent Fate (the man behind the mask, looking sharp in a business suit)

You can always go ahead nto PT and make a mask design for him, dude. You've seen what kind of insianity PT affords you this year. So go bang out the zombie effect yourself, or at the least something close to it. Also, when I get home from NJ, I'll be working on the TaPOuT logo, so get Jon Payne ready to role. :P

Oh yea, something told me that you were gonna combine those two design logos to make some kind of "king" tattoo for him. Kick ass idea for him. :D

Might just be your eyes playing with you, but I see no real difference between using pitch black compared to the black that most people use, but then again it could just be preference, as it is the case with me. You can still make out the details in the texture of certain fabrics regardless of the shade, and in other cases it makes no difference either way. Gonna have to just roll with the punches there bud, some will see it, some won't and to others it doesn't matter either way. I fall in the last of the three myself, but thanks for the feedback nonetheless.

That said, here's the complete Riot.

Similar to the 2010 version, where I actually used the "Disturbed" logo as the face of his mask. The hood gives off that vibe of the Todd McFarlane Disturbed "mascot", which is what I was going for.

To the left is the "Axe Murderer" attire. Pretty obvious the inspiration for it...but as pointed out earlier, the idea also stemmed from some characters in a photo from the ill-fated PC game All Points Bulletin.

Just so you know, APB will be the inspiration of a lot of designs for me in 2011.
And on the totally opposite side of the mask marauder spectrum is the man behind the legendary mask of Riot...the cold, calculating Vincent Fate. No less dangerous than his "alter ego"...but much more tame, I guess...they do have the same moves, lol.

FYI, I put the "Disturbed" logo up on the CC for anyone who wanted to use it as an ACTUAL Disturbed logo, lol. Riot himself will be available in a few. Here are my tags:

thr33xcaw
thr33xcaf
thr33xpt

I think you can figure out which tag are for which.

Great work like always ,

will the eyes teeth logo be available for dl also ?

cant wait to see more from you.

That's the "Disturbed" logo I speak of my last post. Yep, it's up there, just use the proper tag to find it. Riot himself is also uploaded in all his glory. Now that he's out of the way, I though to myself "who should I do next" knowing full well that it HAD to be a female, lol. I decided to go with one of my new favorites, and all I can say is that for the major f'kup of no transparency...the new models are amazing in what you can pull off with the morphing. Here's the sneak peek:

Jamie Fury, first created in SVR2009 on PS2. Based on Brazilian female bodybuilder Monica Martin and former American Gladiator Jamie "Fury" Novak. About the only thing I dislike is the fact I can't make her more tan with the preset skintones, but otherwise her physique is amazingly done. Just look how she dwarfs Michelle McCool, who's the tallest Diva by far.
Looks really cool Thr33X,hope you make some of your original divas & upload them this year! :D
Did you not see the preview pics of Jamie Fury in the spoiler of my last post? That's just a taste of things to come. I've already completed the initial attire, moveset and entrance for Hayley Jonas, now I'm just waiting for my brother to whip up a TapouT logo so I can work on her alternate attires. You'll see what I did with her when she's 100%.

@OZ- There's still nobody else who's tried to make it yet, the TapouT logo that is. Your Prestige is gonna skyrocket from that alone.

The best thing about online is that you rank up from your content as well as online play. All I've uploaded so far was Riot, his finisher and main logo and Jon Payne's Paynekiller 2.0, and already I've gone from Trainee to Blue Chipper. 349 total downloads in less than 24 hours, not bad...but I'm just getting started. Thanks everyone for the support. :)

Just to let you know, CAWS will not be the only thing I show off here. I posted this in the General Chat section as well...just uploaded for you PSN-ites is a TapouT logo outline, made by me. Oz accidentally upped a high-res version and I was in a rush so I just sat down and whipped one up myself. It's an outline, so you can fill it with your desired color combinations. I will be personally whoring this logo, just to let you know. Gonna work on an adidas and an Under Armor logo eventually.

And just as another sneak preview...

Both Hayley Jonas here and Jamie Fury are near completion. Full pics are coming soon.

WoW Jamie fury looks like a Caw that finally outsizes any of the super divas I make, although Jennifer Davidson, and Andrea were bonified She-Giants..and is Hayley Jonas based off of Angela Gossow from Arch Enemy? Personally I can see some parallels.

Also I got to ask Thr33X, in paint tool, is there a way to make a dark color? I'm having a hard time trying to do the blood for my Caws like last year..

Fergie, Angela Gossow, Kat Von D, Sabina Kelly, Ashley Massaro, Brody Dalle, Hayley's overall inspiration's come from lots of women. Looking at how her arm tattoos look like now, the color reminds me a lot of Janine Lindemulder's massively inked and seldomly clothed body, lol.

As for PT when you hit L2/LT to get to the color, hit the D-Pad to decrease the shade of a color. Also moving the arrow to the bottom will darken a color, just don't go too far down or you'll desaturate it to black (or white, depending on how you set the shade).

Great caws as usual will you be releasing any forms this year
I doubt I will be able to do that. I just don't have the time for it like I used to, sorry.
