GODstandard Posted May 26, 2009 Report Share Posted May 26, 2009 I have read on Youtube that peoples favorite wrestling game is Shut Your Mouth. Mine is Here Comes the Pain I am wondering which one do people like more and why?? I prefer HCTP in general, the only things I can think of which I would have wanted from SYM is how you could walk around backstage (and outside the arena) to talk to other wrestlers in Season mode, how Taker left his bike outside the ring (I can't remember if this happens in HCTP?), climbing the giant fist in the Smackdown arena, the subway and WWE's cafe in Times Square. And also the nWo of course! I think WWE's cafe (The World) should have been explorable in HCTP, or was it closed by the time that game came out? But overall I prefer HCTP. It has the most star-studded roster ever in a WWE game and even the midcard is great (Ultimo Dragon!) and a lot of them who were seen as midcarders then became main eventers like Randy Orton, Eddie Guerrero and Edge. Another thing I like about HCTP is the lack of commentary. Commentary always annoys me in wrestling games and I prefer that generic but cool music playing during matches. It has very fast-paced gameplay, which I like and had a great roster in my opinion. HCTP was great too but I just liked the SYM gameplay better though. Shut Your Mouth's downsides are no Elimination Chamber and no Ultimo Dragon. (I only play RVD/Ultimo/Trish vs Y2J/Matt/Lita. .EdrD Posted July 1, 2009 Report Share Posted July 1, 2009 Shut Your Mouth was my favorite out of all games. It was my first PS2 game, and at that time, was the only game I played. I had tons of fun on it, and when HCTP came out, I had my share of fun there, too. I say Shut Your Mouth since there was more backstage areas and more of unrealistic feel. I mean, you won't find the ability to climb the SD! fist in these newer wrestling games. HCTP was great for the development of a better grappling system. SYM > HCTP, imo. Close call but when 1 of my dickhead mates decided to pull a nasty rib on me & delete my saves i had to start from scratch & i can honestly say HCTP was alot more fun & quicker to unlock everything than SYM. I love both games tho & the roster on each is amazing & unique. I actually have both games saved across 3 different memory cards just so i can play different storys with different wrestlers & do different actions. Kinda like building my own storys which i look forward 2be doing on '10!!
